Ken Schneider leads Symantec Ventures where he is Vice President and Fellow with an overall focus on driving innovation. He was previously Chief Technology Officer of the Enterprise Security Group where he was responsible for technology architecture, integration, business development, and business operations.
Prior to joining Symantec, Schneider served as CTO and VP of Operations for Brightmail, the leading anti-spam software company that was successfully acquired by Symantec.
Before Brightmail, Schneider founded South Beach Software, a software and consulting company that developed products for the professional video market. He has also held engineering positions at Integrated Systems and at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
Schneider received a master of science in mechanical engineering from University of California Berkeley and a bachelor of science in engineering from Swarthmore College.
